Daxie Boy Toys was created to alleviate the financial pressures incurred by our puppy Dax Anthony. Dax is a 6 year old pug who has undergone several surgeries. When Dax was 6 months old, our vet told us that Dax had a Liver Shunt which means that he did not have proper use of his liver. After the several days it took to get him stable the vet performed a procedure which cost us approximately $5,000. We had to take out a loan in order to pay for his surgery.

Three months later, we brought Dax in for a checkup because he was limping. This is when we found out that he had Necrosis of his right hip. This is a disease that eats away at your bones. When we brought Dax in for his surgery we found out that they do not make hip replacements for small dogs. The vet was going to cut off the top of his femur and then he would have to undergo several months of physical therapy in order to rebuild his muscles and ligaments to make a false hip joint.

A month after his surgery, while we were completing his physical therapy, we found out that the disease was in his other hip. So Dax went in for his third surgery before he even turned a year old.

There have been several other little surgeries in between and now the loans are up to approximately $25,000. Dax is now 5 years old and happy as can be.

We started collecting and selling toys at a flea market in Pennsylvania and then on eBay.

The money that we make goes to paying for Dax, our other two dogs Dakota Lee (the boxer), Dilon Jacob (the baby pug), and Rock (the kitten born and abandoned in our driveway 6/09).
