Memorable Moment - Prior to September 1988, Akeem was known far and wide as the One Man Gang - one of WWE's toughest Superstars. But a change was coming. On September 24, during a segment on Superstars of Wrestling, Slick, One Man Gang's manager, revealed that Gang had decided to re-embrace his African roots and would now be known as "Akeem the African Dream." Appearing in native grab, the newly dubbed Akeem confirmed the announcement and danced off the television screen to a tribal drum beat. Not only did this transformation revitalize Akeem's career, but both Akeem and Slick claimed that they had revolutionized the entire world of sports-entertainment.
